#PerspektiveMICEBerlin: Restoring Confidence In The Industry With Test Events

Date & Time: Monday, June, 21, 2021 5:30 to 6:15 pm  CEST

Over the past year, those of us in the MICE industry have had to ask ourselves a series of tough questions: How—and when—can we plan events without risking cancellation, postponement, or shifting to a hybrid solution? When will travel return to normal? What’s the best framework for delivering safe events? And finally: How do we ensure that we’re 100% ready to restart the event industry after such a long period of uncertainty? In order to regain the trust of event organisers and attendees alike, we need to take a systematic approach to applying different hygiene standards, pay close attention to what works and what doesn’t, and incorporate lessons learned. With these concerns in mind, visitBerlin conducted a test event with 100 industry representatives in Germany. In a second row, additional test events are planned for June and will include up to 500 participants. Based on the experience at visitBerlin’s first test event, Marco Oelschlegel touches on some additional questions to consider as we transition into this new phase of event management:

  • What can we learn from both the preparation and execution of these test events?
  • How can we design contactless events to create added value for online audiences?
  • What will it take to win back trust in the MICE industry?
