Valuing diversity is an inalienable part of 'Meetings made in Germany' and is deeply embedded in the DNA of the GCB German Convention Bureau. Every year, millions of people from around the world come to Germany for conferences, congresses, or seminars, and hundreds of thousands work in the event industry here. No matter where these people come from, how they were raised, what they believe in, what physical and mental abilities they have, or whom they love: We welcome them warmly and treat them with respect and trust! Meetings made in Germany are open-minded and diverse: We firmly reject all forms of extremism and stand with full conviction for our free democracy and our constitution.
Potentials of Diversity: Our Motivation
Business events bring people from all over the world together, enabling the exchange of ideas and knowledge, and driving innovation forward. At the GCB, we recognize the value of each dimension of diversity and aim to further differentiate and harness their potential. Diversity thus becomes another cornerstone of the values embedded in the GCB mission statement: knowledge and expertise, networking, openness, sustainability, and innovation.
We firmly believe that embracing and promoting diversity enhances our work, builds respect and trust, and significantly contributes to a successful future through creative solutions – for both the GCB and Germany as a leading meetings destination.
We strive to foster a culture of respect within the GCB team, embracing diversity across gender, age, ethnic background, nationality, physical and mental abilities, religion, worldview, sexual orientation, and social standing. This commitment extends equally to our members, partners, and customers. Our aim is to actively promote diversity not only within the GCB but also at external events, recognizing their pivotal role as platforms for exchanging knowledge and ideas to systematically incorporate diversity.
A key element of our endeavor is our endorsement of the "Charta der Vielfalt" (Diversity Charter), a significant initiative in Germany, signed by us in the spring of 2023. This charter stands as the foremost employer-led commitment to advancing diversity within companies and institutions.
